During normal working hours the exhibits close promptly at closing time. They are usually pretty good about not rushing you out if you are in another area of the park and walking out...or grabbing a last minute snack or souvenir. They do have Wildlights and Boo at the zoo with extended hours; but not all areas of the park or exhibits are open during these extended hours if you want to see them; plan on spending the day. It's worth mentioning the price is the same no matter when you get there so for the most experience for the dollar you should go as early as you can depending on what you want to see
During the Festival of Lights, they stay open later.
They'll start slowly closing exhibits off at 5. I've had a couple times where they were pretty much kicking us out while we were still looking after 5. Best bet is to come early enough that you see everything before 5
