Yes helmets are required its a 72 inch max width. My pioneer 1000 only fit by a couple inches
Yes you can drive 4 wheelers, dirt bikes, side by sides. I've even seen a go kart. In regards to the helmet, I believe that is a requirement, but I am not 100% sure. That being said, you'd be stupid not to wear one, regardless.
