We saw tents on several of the Overnight Camp Sites. We were just there in August 2021.
I disagree with the camp sherwin. I have camped there multiple times. Yes there is activities for kids but you could easily go the mile down the road to do things with the kids if you wanted. Camp sherwin in my experience has been nothing but problems. I have had things stolen from me there, campsites so flooded they arent even usable etc. I have been going to camp eriez since I was a kid and the people are always friendly. There is a playground and the pool, plus you can walk to the lake. Our kids have no problems finding ways to entertain themselves. Unfortunately as far as I know there has never been tenting allowed at camp eriez. When we used to tent we went to follys end.
I have been here for 10 years and there hasn't been any tents allowed for as long as I can remember. Go to Sara Coyne's campground right on the peninsula. They have tent camping & you'll have more fun there than you will at Camp Eriez. There's nothing here to do at Camp Eriez and they never have the pool ready until July. We were at Sara's for 25 years and loved it. Or try camp Sherwin in Lake City. That's a fantastic place if you have kids.
Unfortunately, due to policy changes, you are no longer allowed to pitch tents on annually owned lots. Tents are now only permitted on day rental lots
