We don't allow people to take pictures of our product or signage as company policy, though some slip through, of course. As lucky as we are to have this amazing, historical building, though, we sometimes turn a blind eye to those who take pictures of the structure itself. Source: I work there. :)
Sorry that I can't be of help. I have never taken photo's in Trader Joe's, although I have heard of customers being me people not to take photos in Trader Joe's.
I've taken photos in Traders Joe's posted them to Google. No one had ever stopped me from taking photos in the store.
