Wasted our time coming here. We confirmed that they were open online and on their website and they were not. Their website even states that they're open 24 hours. They need to update this for people that waste their time coming to see them.

Great winery with good wine and hosts. Even 2 very unique wines never seen or tasted before. However... the more my wife & I thought about something, the more we both agreed we would never go back to Hogg Hollow. We both think this winery is extremely expensive compared to ALL the other local wineries in the Shawnee area of southern Illinois. Trust me, we've been to ALL of them. We were previously at Cache River Winery where we had 2 appetizers, drank two bottles and purchased 4 more for a total of 6 bottles. Our bill was $125. At Hogg Hollow, we purchased 2 tastings$7 each, $14 total) and 2 bottles of wine(one bottle $30, the other $33)total $77. Wife & I understand some businesses may be trying to play Covid catch-up but this place is WAYYY Out Of Line. Good Luck!

Nice stop along the way to the hikes. The owner has a lot of unique wines including a spicy peppery wine!!

Stopped there last weekend, owner is very friendly and will spend a lot of time with his customers. For $5, you can sample all his wines until you figure out which ones you like best. The place is neat and clean, wines are delicious, can't ask for more! We'll definitely stop there again next time we're in the area.
