Felt the need to leave a 1 star review, especially after a terrible experience this afternoon that will officially be our last visit. This place has slowly gone downhill over the past year or so. My wife and I are/were regulars. Over the past 5+ years, we’ve visited at least 75+ times. Usually once or twice a month. During COVID, we felt a need to support it even more with it being a small, hometown business. I’ve even recommended it to numerous others, which I will now ‘un-recommend‘. Lately, their specials are unavailable within a day or two of being announced and they’re constantly out of sides (i.e. cornbread salad, pasta salad, etc). The tipping point this afternoon came when we walked in at 6:21PM and the lady working the register told us that they closed in 30 minutes and that any order would have to be ‘take-out‘ only. Note, they are supposed to close at 7PM, not 6:51PM. We were wanting to sit down for a quick meal (maybe 15 minutes max), not order take-out, so we decided to go somewhere else. I politely mentioned to the lady working there that she may want to let Jackson (the owner) know that the hours on Google (that stated they closed at 8PM) were incorrect and he might want to update them. She immediately became defensive and hastily said that they close at 7pm and not 8pm, and that someone keeps changing the hours and she has to keep changing them back. She then said that they‘ll probably change their hours and start closing earlier, instead of staying open so late. 7PM is late??? On a Saturday evening??? We want to support small and local businesses— we really do, and we will, but we won’t be supporting Heaven’s To Betsy anymore. The restaurant directly across the street stays open much later. It’s sorry that it’s come to this, because from my previous review a few years ago, I raved about H2B like it was the best thing ever. Oh, how time can change everything. The food is good, but as a loyal customer to any establishment, you want to feel like you’re helping them, and doing them a favor by visiting, not the other way around. For reference, I’m writing this review on July 23rd, 2022, a few hours after the debacle.

We stopped in here between Bourbon Distillery tours for something to drink. Simple Iced Coffee and and Arnold Palmer. Both were delicious, but what caught our attention were the comments about the food. A couple came in and the Betsy's husband (?) announced they have the best Reuben in the country. They ordered and said it was fantastic. A young lady came in and asked for Betsy to make her a surprise sandwich and a cup of soup and she loved the sandwich and raved about the soup! Betsy clearly has the touch with her recipes and knows how to season her food to her clientele's liking. They have two storefronts next to each other and they fill for lunch. If you have a scheduled distillery tour to make, just let them know when you order. What a great find!

Excellent Reuben sandwich and brocolli salad was very good as well. We came around 11:30 am and they were already getting busy for the lunch crowd. Nice atmosphere and friendly service.

I love this place, man. I live in Columbus, Ohio, but my friend lives in here in Lawrenceburg. I insist on eating here every time I visit. Sometimes I want to visit JUST to eat here! The environment is cozy, and very clean. It’s large enough inside for adequate Covid-spacing. The food is consistently delicious. We are pretty much addicted to the same order: We get a chicken salad sandwich and a turkey sandwich, then share halves. The portions are generous, and there are free refills. Everything I’ve had has been great. Highly recommend supporting this local gem.

Sorry Tara we do not. Our gluten free option is we make any of our sandwiches “in a bowl”.
I know they do catering and she makes cakes weekly for the shop, but I'm not sure about specialty cakes. They cakes she makes are excellent.
Heavens to Betsy is hands down one of the best restaurants in Kentucky.
Cant see how ordering here is confusing. Look at the menu, pick an item, order....its that simple. Perhaps asking an employee would have helped..? I agree, trying the place across the street is an excellent idea. It is a top notch restaurant as well, but im going to point out the ordering situation will be about the same process! Good luck!
They have delicious made in house from scratch cakes and pies. It varies what selection they have on hand.
They do not deliver, but the drive into town is certainly worth it! 🤗 And your tummy will thank you!!!
