I used Hillside Storage Mart for 3 years and highly recommend it! Great customer service! Paul is friendly, smart, & accommodating. They are very upfront about the options available and why and they recommend the best available unit/plan to meet your needs. Great!

I have very mixed feelings about this location. I really want to write a good review but I can't. The staff are nice and try their best to be helpful, however the StorageMart corporate, cost and deficiencies at the location are glaring. 1) Billing issues - I had these from the start, from initially the inability of automatic payments to work on my account. Later they redid the login system for the web page, made it impossible for me to do online payments. Getting charged fees and due to the inflexibility of the payment system it was all or nothing. The staff at the location did their best to compensate for these issues, but over time it became impossible. 2) Cost - I rented a 5x15 unit initially but it was not big enough for my things, so I had to rent a second unit. So I had to rent a second 5x10 unit. This gave me a total of 125 sq/ft. There was a discount on each unit of $20, since I had 2 units it was a $40 discount, and the initial cost of the two units was $200 ($240 without the discount). This seemed fairly reasonable, but over time the cost rose and when I left the cost was $280, and $320 when I lost the discount due to billing problems listed in #1. I rented a single 15x10 (150 sq/ft giving me an extra 25sq/ft total) unit at LifeStorage nearby and the cost is about $200, saving me between $80 and $120 a month. 3) Location Deficiencies - The security technology at the location is about 30 years old. Classic style login entry keypad. The bay to pull in to load and unload things has a 11' height limit which was too short for the moving truck and the movers had to park outside the bay and load by foot the extra distance. The new LifeStorage location has a modern mobile app that allows you to open the doors via the app, making payments on it and the bay door was easily sufficient so the moving truck could enter without problems allowing us to load and unload from the comfort of the climate controlled building. 4) Draconian Corporate Rules - The corporate does not give much leeway to the location to handle problems and does not acknowledge its own problems. I work at night and do most things in the middle of the night. I had problems with the web site and call the corporate number to try to resolve it but they are not open. There is no online help system, via text, email or any other modern method, only by phone during normal business hours. The corporate would not acknowledge their shortcomings and made it difficult for the nice local people to resolve the problems either. While the geographic location I think is nice and the staff are helpful, I would recommend going to a different storage provider. Save yourself some headaches, money and get the nice features a more modern provider offers! Update: I have to wonder about some of these recent 5 star reviews, they popped up after I posted a negative review and they have little substance to them.

Ask for Paul. He helped us find a great storage unit for a great price.

Yes! You can work out of a storage unit. We have some units that have outlets to make this more feasible. Simply ask the facility manager about options for keeping a workshop in a unit. They'll help you find one to suit your needs.
