My family and I were looking in a town north of here for a hotel that would allow early check in. (Super 8 in Cortez allowed it but wanted to kick us out at 2pm) After doing some searching, we called this La Quinta in Farmington, and the sweetest person in the world, by the name of Kathy, answered. Kathy said she had just arrived but would check the to see if there was something that may fit us. She found a few available rooms and booked one for us. When we arrived she was extremely accommodating and kind. She didn't have the slightest bit of rudeness in her demeanor. I read some of the reviews about this place, and I see that they are updating the rooms, which is a good thing, and it takes some time to do so. Our pets were welcomed with nice little doggy park at the back of the property. Our room was cool, the property and room were very clean, and it accommodated all of our needs. There were other reviews involving cleaning and maintenance issues, but Kathy at the front desk is a 10 star in my book. If I owned a hotel in my city, I would move Kathy there to come work for us and pay her what she's worth.

We arrived very late -or early- at around 3:30am after 21 hours of driving. Probably due to this fact, the front desk attendant was rather short with us, and not at all welcoming. Not a great interaction to kick off the night. After barely managing to find a parking space within walking distance of our room, we were VERY surprised when the single king room for which we paid $120 had quite possibly the tiniest bathroom on the planet. As mentioned in other reviews, the showerhead was incredibly low; my partner is 5’6” and couldn’t get their head beneath it. The drain in the shower was emptying incredibly slowly, presumably because it was clogged with previous visitors’ hair. There was visible hair that belonged to neither of us already present in the bathroom when we arrived. Amenities were lacking; fridge wasn’t cold, soap was sparse, towels were thin and small. If we had paid the $68 listed here and on other websites, maybe all of this could have been overlooked, but the $120 charge (including tax) was ridiculous. It felt like we truly were only paying for the ability to bring our two cats into the room with us. The one star is for Rachel, who was able to pre-check us in hours before we even arrived, securing our reservation. Without her, this would definitely deserve no stars. INCREDIBLY DISAPPOINTING!!!!

This hotel was overpriced! It should be rated as a Motel 6 kind of hotel. I made reservations for non smoking and we got a smoking room. My child has asthma. We were told there are no other alternatives upon check in. The rooms are quite small. The shower did not drain so we had to shower in a pool of water. The floors are not carpeted. The room decorations are outdated and not cohesive. The pool was also closed. There were no extra towels available. The towels seemed old and mismatched.

Definitely not nearly as nice as other La Quintas. King size bed with only 3 mini pillows. Shower head super low. I’m 5’5” and could hardly stand under it. No lock on bathroom door. No plug for drain in the sink. If you drop anything smaller than a half dollar in the sink it’s gone forever. Hardly any room for parking. Very outdated rooms and appliances.
