Have people lost the ability of communicating? Don't expect much at this coffee shop. When the clerk approached the counter, she stood there and just stared at me, didn't say a word. LOL So I said Hi, Oh this must be my cue. At the very least, I could appreciate that most of the customers were low key quiet types which nearly all repeatedly glared and snarled at the mother and her ear piercing screaming toddler. lol Not so common grounds.

Stopped in on our way out of town while visiting from Delaware. What a truly exceptional coffee establishment! Everything from the lattes, to the breakfast sandwiches, to the cookies was truly excellent! If we lived here we would be here all the time!

I love this cozy old style cafe with wood tables, warm afternoon light, and outdoor seating, that encourages conversation as well as remote working and study. They are one of the few joints left where local businesses and services can offer biz cards and event flyers. They have a yummy gluten-free chocolate chip cookie and a nice selection of teas as well as the ubiquitous coffee bar. And nice, friendly staff.

Awesome place. Came in for a simple breakfast and immediately felt welcome. There are some small tables in the alley for outdoor seating but also four LOVELY benches at the storefront where you'll get the nice and soft morning sunshine while sipping your warm latte. I also appreciate that they are keeping a high sanitary standard during this special time. When I was handed the coffee cup lid, the barista had his gloves on and tried not to touch the inside of the lid.

As part of PBOT's Safe Streets Initiative, the closest parking spot is now a 5-minute pickup zone, making takeout super convenient. For those seeking a “back to normal” experience, we have spaced indoor dining (except when Multnomah County is in the Extreme Risk Level), avoid superfluous rules, and encourage employees to be polite about enforcing mandates.
