Went in and asked to hit 3 specific clubs, and the new stealth driver. The honored the request at first and then he asked me where I was in the buying process. I told him I just wanted to hit the clubs and wasn’t set on anything. He then changed out the heads I specifically asked for and had me hitting a blade by the end of the “session turned fitting” then told me my swing was to reckless to hit in his simulator and basically told me he wasn’t going to allow me to hit the driver. I’m a 14 handicap and avid golfer. Who does that?

Called to come look at new shafts and was told “You have a confidence issue with your driver, that’s why you hit other ones better”. I’m not taking the advice from someone who has already made a judgement about my swing and problems before they have even met me in person or heard my question. None of our money will ever be spent somewhere that doesn’t seem to want it.

I had researched a few stores in the Puget Sound area. I live near Lacey, and we have a few golf shops in the local area. A friend and co-worker of mine told me he had great experiences at Puetz Tacoma Superstore and recommended me to seek them out. I am a pretty picky consumer. I research everything I purchase, and look for quality in everything I buy. Before making the trip, I had decided on a certain club that I wanted. When I drove up to Tacoma to visit the store, I wasn't sure what to expect. I have not bought a set of clubs since about 1990 or so. When I walked in I was politely greeted by a young salesman. I wandered over to look for the clubs that I had set out to buy. My plan was to pick them off the shelf and walk up to the counter to purchase. While I was looking, a salesman named Don Parker approached me and asked if he could help me. I told him the make and model of club I was looking for and he directed me to the right area. He followed me over and asked me a few probing questions. I was a little bit shy, because I really didn't know too much about the "new style" clubs and what I needed. Don boldly picked out two different shaft styles and started walking me over to an area to hit balls and before I knew it, I was ready to swing some clubs. Don was patient and never pushed me. In fact he said, "if you don't hit a club the way it should improve your game, I wont sell that club to you". I've worked most of my life as a regional sales manager, I knew at that moment that Don cared more about making me comfortable than getting a sale. Needless to say, I purchased a driver, set of fairway woods, full set of irons, new shoes, and some balls for my next round. Never did he judge my selection, never did he ever make me feel like I had to buy a product that I didn't need. We shared some personal stories along our journey, and I feel confident that Don Parker is not only a classy salesman, but a great person and cares about his trade and his craft. I was honored to have him as my salesman and look forward to my next purchase at Puetz Golf. Thank you Don for making this experience 5 stars all the way!

Stopped by due to bad I5 traffic to hit some clubs. Steve was great and did an entire iron fitting. Wrote down the specs and let me go. Came back two weeks later to recheck and did the fitting again. Still loved the clubs so bought them. Great experience, no pressure.
