Why fly out of bigger congested international airports when you can begin it here where we live? Parking is easy, check-in a snap, and the TSA experience is short and simple. I appreciate not having to drive over the mountains in winter and/or deal with Seattle traffic. The downside is working with flight availability. My wife flew out at 5:30 am today.

1 hour is the cut off. The ticket agents turn into baggage agents and plane handlers. If you're in line before they leave you won't get stranded. Anything after that you are taking you chances.
Alaska airlines will notify you if there is a change in your reservation either through the Alaska app or which ever email is associated with your reservation.

With Alaska it is 25 then goes up from there. $25, then $25 then the thrid os $75. If MVP bags are free.

Your best bet is simply fly out of Pasco / Tri - Cities airport. Delta & United serves Pasco.
If it happens it will be short lived. People would rather fly out of Pasco / Tri - Cities to other cities via Delta & United.
