Out stay at this lovely beachfront cottage was wonderful in every way. The house is well-appointed, comfortable, and cute! We cooked full meals there and found everything we needed in the kitchen, plus more. The beds were extremely comfortable. We were three adults, but twice as many people could comfortable stay there. The location of the house couldn't be better. The huge backyard is literally on the beach, and there is a beautiful view of sea and sky. It was a bit cold to spend time outdoors, but if it had been warmer we would have used the large back deck a lot. There is plenty of room to eat outside or just hang out on the deck or the yard. The house is also a short walk from the nearby town where there are restaurants, cute shops, and grocery stores. Kim, the owner, was extremely helpful. She responded to messages quickly and provided lots of insider tips about things to do and places to go. We had a great time and I plan to return as soon as possible.

Great place very big beach quite, but that is all, its just about the beach there is a town but not a lot of things to do there. :) but very peaceful i liked it!

We had a lovely getaway at the Oceanfront Cottage and everything about this house, tucked away at the foot of Neahkahnie Mountain, is comfortable and private – private beach access, private fire pit area, private and cozy master bathroom with en suite, private living room nook…and having the place in January made me want to stay in sweatpants and read books in front of the huge windows while the waves crashed just outside because it felt so secluded and relaxing. Being dog friendly is also a HUGE bonus and with easy access to the beach, the cute town of Manzanita, and great local hiking spots, I highly recommend this house (and host). We had everything we needed!

This house was absolutely stunning! What a perfect location for a large group of people to gather and relax for a weekend. Once you're done "oohing and aahing" over all of the wood (a mix of new and what looked like reclaimed) and testing the wide variety of vintage chairs, the house lends itself perfectly to a calm weekend with friends. Our group took advantage of all of the house features; ping pong, billiards, fire pit, 3,000 piece puzzle with soft-click technology! One group was working on the puzzle at the massive kitchen table, while another group played Mexican Train Dominoes and others read in one of the many cozy sitting areas.. yet we were all still in the same room! As if the gorgeous view of the beach weren't enough, access was as easy as crossing the street, and we were able to enjoy a walk on the beach between February rain storms. Cooking was a breeze, as the kitchen had more supplies than I have in my own kitchen, plus there was a gas BBQ right outside the door on the deck that we cooked burgers on. I am definitely not a very creative or "design-y" person, but my absolute favorite part about the house was discovering all of the details the house had to offer. My words could never do it justice, you will just have to see for yourself! Hope I can come back another time!

Good question. There are three main routes between the Manzanita Beach area and Portland, Oregon. Generally people use Hwy 26. Hwy 53 is rather full of twists and turns so while the distance may be shorter, one drives slower. Think of the Hana Highway on Maui, but shorter. Hwy 6 entails driving between Tillamook and Manzanita on a slower portion of Hwy 101. It is scenic, but generally not quicker. However, it is a good route in the winter time when Hwy 26, at a higher elevation, may be slick during colder temperatures.
The distance from the Portland Airport to the Manzanita Beach area is about 98 miles, and approximately a two hour drive. The time all depends on traffic situations, so rush hour will definitely add time.
The best restaurant in Manzanita for a wedding reception depends on the size of your group. At The Houses On Manzanita Beach we've just had a small group of around 30 plan a reception at NeahKahNie Bistro. The Winery has facilities for small groups up to 115 guests. Other places to try would be Mighty Thai, The Big Wave, Bread and Ocean, El Trio Locos Dos and Left Coast Siesta. Yolk, the new breakfast and lunch spot, may be able to accommodate a late afternoon or evening reception. Nearby, you might check Rising Star Cafe in Wheeler as they also have a separate event space. San Dune Pub is open seven days a week so they're probably booked but it's always worth a try. Another option is to obtain a permit for a beach event, rent a shelter, and have a wonderful beach reception. Weddings on Manzanita Beach are wonderful and can be spectacular. Have a great experience!
That I am not sure call Manzanita city hall and ask them. You mught be able to or there might be a small fee.
We enjoyed Rising Star Cafe in nearby Wheeler, probably less than a 10 minute drive. It's not a Manzanita restaurant, but we thought it was one of the best restaurants near Manzanita Oregon.
