Spent a wonderful weekend here with my mom and brother (adults). The house was immaculate and decorated so cute in a beach theme. Located right on the beach. We stayed in the Lighthouse Suite and it was perfect! Breakfast was home cooked and amazing every morning. The hosts were so friendly and very accommodating. We will definitely stay here again!

If you want a place to relax with great views and an easy walk to the beach(out the back door) this is it! David and Natalie are very accommodating, our room-The Schooner is very comfortable, and breakfast is delicious. We have been coming here for 6 years now(when Jim and Gail where hosts) and always feel at home. Its a quick walk to town and restaurants. But the best part is sitting on the beach with the soothing waves, searching for seaglass and enjoying the wildlife when the tide is out.

My boyfriend and I had a wonderful stay at the Commander's Beach House back in August 2019. The beach house and its surrounding property are gorgeous and welcoming - a very inviting home. Our hosts were extremely gracious, friendly, and accommodating. Waking up to a gentle sea breeze, a gourmet breakfast, and a walk along the beach was just blissful. I'd advise anyone who stays here to check out Fort Worden nearby as well - the views are beautiful. If you're planning on staying in Port Townsend, this should be the first place you look. We would love to go back!

I'm not sure whether it's Jim or his dog Cutter who ultimately makes you feel immediately welcome but either way...from the minute the door opens you feel like this is your home, even if it's just for a few days. I had never stayed at a B&B before, I have always been a bit of a hotel kinda traveler, but I think this experience may have changed my mind. It was simply put...just lovely!!! We stayed in a suite with a very comfy cozy bed where the waves from the ocean lulled us to sleep. We awoke each morning with the smell of coffee brewing downstairs and Gail cooking up our first meal of the day. The beach house is steps from the ocean and also very close to all the best shops, restaurants and pubs. Each day we would go down, chat awhile with the other happy looking house mates then off we would go to explore the city. Probably around 4p, it was back to the Beach House for a little R & R and possibly a nap. It was always so very quiet and peaceful. Then we would get up and head down to the living area where we could enjoy a glass of wine before heading out for dinner. If you are planning a trip to Port Townsend any time soon I highly recommend you stay with Jim and Gail at Commanders Beach House. They will make your stay in Port Townsend a good one...:)
