Choose from 4 different variations of a Japanese curry meal. That's all you get. Some people may be put off by this, but this is why they shine. These guys (I think the owner/chef is Japanese) focus on Japanese curry and that's all they do, and so do it very well. They even remember to include the proper fukujinzuke pickled vegetables. This is typical of Japanese restaurants to only focus on one type of dish. It's very authentic and very different from Thai or Indian curries if you have never had it, and is the least spicy of the curries. The staff are friendly and efficient. Prices are good. Seating is limited and decor is fitting and simple.

Omg. I’ve always moved away from curry since I tasted the Indian one a long time ago and didn’t like it. Long story short, I scraped the plate. Man, it was so good. I got the Kalé-Doria + Baked something-something (can’t recall the second part right now haha). Half and half cheese. Every spoon was heaven!

The. Best. Curry. Ever. It is literally the only reason I visit Portland. I really wish they would open a location in CA so I don't have to keep flying up here. Order the Kale Doria with beef sauce. Not chicken, not vegetables. It has to be beef. Then it's baked at 5,000° so it's piping hot and each bite is cheesy heavenly goodness. Toppings are optional and completely unnecessary. They did move to a new, smaller location. Very unfortunate because it used to be beautifully decorated and now it has to share a building. But the owner is just as cheerful and attentive as ever. 20/10 service.

Wow. I haven't had Japanese curry that didn't come out of a box in years. It's so good and fresh. Loved the beef curry. Katsu is good too for being baked. Love the red pickles. Very pleasant food. Not really a formal or big group restaurant, small store front and you order before you sit down.

Order indoors at the counter, masks required. Dining is only outdoors or takeout. There are a few outdoor tables spaced well apart from each other. They're wiped down between customers. It's just the owner most (all?) of the time behind the counter, so there aren't a lot of people inside when ordering.
Japanese curry roux often contains wheat flour. On their website, they state that their recipe contains soy, wheat, milk and peanut. However, they do have a gluten-free version on their menu called Kalé rice mild chicken.
Renovations at the parking garage they were renting retail space in.
