Absolutely atrocious! I will be reporting them to the BBB! I recommend everyone who deals with them does the same! Maybe if we all report them something will be done about the extortion they are inflicting on their customers! I am so disgusted with this company I barely have words! They shut off our gas with absolutely no warning or notifications, we didn’t realize our gas and electric was separate because it was combined in our last home! We would have happily paid them immediately if we had had any idea. We called them immediately to pay them and get the gas turned back on... it turns out this is just a scam they like to run. They will shut off customers gas so that they can charge them a $100 fee to turn it back on. They have a monopoly in the area so they don’t care how much people hate them Or how badly they screw their customers. Thank god I don’t have children or they would be freezing tonight! These people are really the worst! Make sure you get their full names for the report to the BBB!

SCAM. DISGUSTING SCAMMER BUSINESS. Unfortunately this is the only gas company in the area so we can’t switch services. Judy the ‘supervisor’ is rude, cranky and has no customer service finesse.Our card was stolen and we received no statements from this joke of a company as we were travelling out of the country from the time they apparently sent the first statement and made phone calls (we were out of the country, phones shut off, we didn’t get any messages!!!!!!) and being in the ER obviously we were having difficulty. If we had known and if they had made better attempts to contact us, we could’ve paid it. We called and begged them to waive the ridiculous 100 dollar ‘reconnect’ fee and said we’d pay in full, put a deposit down, etc, and Judy refused and said that ‘this is not our fault so we will not waive the fee.’ Disgusting business practices, I would give negative stars if possible.

What a joke of a company and exceptionally poor customer service experience. NW Natural will shut off your service over a $50 balance without so much as an effort to actually collect. This is all so they can charge a re connection fee and steal a deposit from longtime customers in order to extort more money. As they hold a monopoly on the gas market in the Portland area they are free to do as they choose. This disgusting form of extortion of customers speaks to a low character business. I will be filing a complaint with the BBB and other regulatory industries. In addition, as a member of the construction industry I will share my experience and be certain to highlight the problem of choosing to install gas appliance in new construction and remodeling. Suffice it to say I'm more than willing to spend some money to cut the strings off our need for gas and replace the appliance to get away from doing business with a company that is so loathsome and treats its customers with such disdain. AVOID NW NATURAL! They give a bad name to a good product (natural gas).

HORRIBLE service. Avoid at all costs. Loyal customer for 15 years needed gas service for hot water heater starting on a Thursday, day one with NO GAS. Customer service promised someone would show after 5pm Friday. Sad day for me. Service tech was NO-SHOW. Office closes at 6 on Friday won't re-open until Monday at 7 am. So that's Thursday NO GAS...COLD SHOWER, Friday NO GAS...COLD SHOWER, Saturday NO GAS...COLD SHOWER, Sunday NO GAS...COLD SHOWER, and I can probably count on another empty promise Monday for NO GAS and ANOTHER F-ING COLD SHOWER. GO ELECTRIC!
