Myself and three other individuals (my friends)... We're staying at motel 6 and seeing that desert sands was the same price better quality so we chose to check out and come up here we already made a reservation prior to coming up here ... So my two friends walk in to go and rent the room there tryin to pull up the reservation as soon as myself and my husband walk in all of a sudden they didn't have rooms my husband and I are colored in other words black and he decided to lie and say there was no reservation so I checked out of my old room thinking he was going to be great this desert sands I guess I stand corrected people are really s***** nowadays and it's sad that we have to deal with something like that so just be careful going to the hotel because racism is very real

My other half and I had been left in abq back in Nov and stayed off and on at motel 6....he got a job but ended up on the streets for two weeks. His mom on xmas eve paid online for 10 days at motel 6 again. They refused us. So we went next door to desert sands inn and not only was it not an issue the room we were given was clean, smelled clean, had ALL towels and no leaks and everything worked perfectly. We've now been here for three months and never have an issue and the staff have become like family. I'm grateful of them all for all they always do!

I booked this hotel while driving into the city. I had no idea how horrible this place was. Drug use everywhere. We walked into our room and the door had been broken into previously. The whole door frame was smashed in. The floor in the room was so sticky my shoes almost came off. And they claim non smoking but definitely had been smoked in. I was in the room for maybe 10 mins before we left. It was a terrifying experience. Now we have to fight for our money back because the girl at the counter said she couldn't do anything until she spoke with the manager on Monday.
