This place could be a jewel but it’s run down and needs some TLC. The room was clean and not smelly which I do appreciate but there was peeling wall paper, mysterious decor like empty hat boxes, and strange patches in the bathroom. They did provide good coffee in the morning.

We were in the Toasted Goat (sic) Restaurant in the Gunther. I love their Muffaletta but others' entrees were excellent, too. Good beer selection. They have a winery in back.

This hotel was great. We were stuck in an unseasonable snowstorm on I68. The interstate wasn’t being plowed and there were crashes left and right, so we decided to get off at Frostburg for the night. We picked the Hotel Gunter and were not disappointed. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. We had a toddler with us and they helped make us all feel more comfortable. They delivered our dinner to our room, and we accidentally left a toddler fork on the plate when we returned it. We went for a walk to explore the hotel (and run off some post-dinner toddler energy) and came back to a dessert waiting for us, along with our washed toddler fork. They have an espresso bar and coffee for in the morning as well. The hotel was comfortable and clean, and the overall energy in the hotel was positive. We also enjoyed learning about the history of hotel. There are lots of restaurants and little shops nearby too. Highly recommend this place.
