A great place for people in the old town community, targeted towards the lower income high density residents of this area, to meet others, participate in activities in the arts, community action, community and personal healthy activities, field trips, celebrations of all kinds (mind, body, soul), nutritional food/snacks, connection to social services, and much more. Giving often forgotten low income elders, adults of ages, physical and mental abilities to be purposeful, contributing, social members in the community where they reside. I've been involved as a member for the last 8-10 years. When it got to the point that home care assistance was not enough, I applied and was accepted into assisted living (Macdonald Residence) center about 5 yrs ago. Independent living is always best, but if a person needs more help, as determined by their health team, this is the best in my opinion and research I did for medicaid/Medicare funded assisted living. For most of us, it is our family as well. There is also Macwest, Independent living sros, and via the Maybelle Macdonald Center for Community, I've met some great people of below poverty incomes, still living independently from Macwest. I'm very grateful to our founders and continued contributions from the Maybelle Macdonald Foundation, members and residents of Mary's Woods, Father Berg, all of of our precious donors, volunteers, and employees that have truly improved my life and given me back a purpose, thank you all!

I can play games, read a book, listen to music, interact with a caring staff, make a snack, volunteer my time, or simply chill out on the brand new patio in the sun with my "always able", not "disabled", friends. I feel secure from the world when I'm there.

an excellent place, they do good work for the homeless and people who are barely making ends meet. I give them a 5-star rating

They really care about the people in the old town community that live in it people are in various apartment complexes and happen to be low income and or elderly and disabled and give us a place of comfort care and just genuine love, they're really nice, and it's great to have a place to go where we can get together with other people play some games, have some activities, sometimes have some coffee socialize and get out of our homes, instead of being all alone which we all know is not healthy, and can create depression and other problems social and personal. They are great organization! With a terrific staff and volunteers !
