Required reading! I usually swing through there while out doing a Gambler 500 event. It's pretty far out of the way for most people, but it's always worth the stop. Old school watering hole atmosphere. Lots of cool stories pass across this bar. You just never know who's going to be in there!

Middle of nowhere and perfect!! Old logger bar decorated as such. Very nice owner bartender and a very unique place to grab a drink or food.

What a unique place. Very off the beaten path, Brooklyn Tavern is a museum in and of itself. Dating back to the hey day of logging, the Tavern is decorated with all sorts of logging equipment, tools and items of interest. Play pool or have a drink while waiting for your order of grill fare now including a "chillie burger"...on special order! This is a place you "go to" not happen to drive by. The drive makes a nice loop out of Oakville, wa on Highway 12, over the hills to US 101 and back through Montesano. (The Oakville side IS 7 miles of good gravel road.) If it's not snowing I'm headed back during Christmas!
