Was in the area for the night, stopped at Village Kitchen for breakfast on the way back home. Great selection on the menu, several different kinds of mimosa's, small group of things for sale inside, home vibe feel to the restaurant interior, great prices! Entered the restaurant to a "Welcome, seat yourselves, I'll come find ya", from the smiling server. Right after sitting the cook popped his head around the corner and said hi. Wasn't all that busy at first but the server was hustling with the tables she had. Come to find out they were shorthanded. As I watched her hustle from table to table, order to order, kitchen to register she never stopped smiling or acknowledging those she passed. One cook, one server and they were getting things done as the flow of more customers slowly came in. Not one customer appeared to mind the wait until she reached their table. Watched a few regulars step in and lend a hand cleaning tables from the customers before. Kudos to them. Huge shout out to server Sarah this morning (March 6th), she did a fantastic job keeping it together and helping her customer's while being shorthanded!!! Thank you Ray (I believe was his name), the cook, for an awesome breakfast!! Love small towns.

Food all tasted really good except the french toast. It really needs something added, a little vanilla, maybe some cinnamon, just something! Lol. Some of the food was only luke warm when it got to the table but overall good atmosphere, the owner has a great personality and adds character to the place. Would definitely stop in again.
