Our family visited Golden Arrow for a few days in July and had an absolutely amazing stay. Friendliest & most helpful staff we have ever encountered. The hotel is not new or modern, but it is immaculately clean & well kept. Extremely family-friendly. Water sports available for guests literally right outside the door, including sand toys for the kiddos. Private, pretty beach on calm lake waters. Fire pits with seating. Comfy beds. I also love that there are recycling bins everywhere, which is rare at a hotel. I can’t say enough good things about this place. We didn’t want to leave! We thought this would be a one-time trip as we road-tripped all the way from Florida. But this hotel & the location definitely make us want to return again!

We really wanted to love the Golden Arrow. I worked with a reservation specialist to find a room that worked for our group - two families with two babies. We wanted a suite with 2 beds/baths and a common area. The reservation specialist recommended the Main Street condo. I asked if there was a door to each bedroom or if it was an open loft, explaining that closed doors were a requirement for baby’s naps. He replied to my email saying “There is a door on both bedrooms. Privacy can be achieved in either!” His reply is why we chose this hotel. Turns out there was no door, and honestly it ruined our vacation to have to whisper from the common room while baby slept upstairs with no privacy. I contacted the reservation specialist directly during our stay and did not hear back. We also told the front desk at check out and were just offered a refund for our $10 pack n play for our inconvenience. The beach front , fire pits and the lake are beautiful. This would’ve been a great trip had the reservation specialist made a different recommendation. Very bummed.

We brought our older dog with us, who can be a little anxious in new situations. The staff was very accommodating and even gave a nice little bag of treats to make him feel at home. The room was very clean and had a great view. Would definitely stay again!

Centrally located in downtown Lake Placid, one of the best places to stay especially if you have a family. Convenient access to lake and nearby shopping. Very helpful and friendly staff. Pool a hit with the kids. Pet friendly. Looking forward to our next trip back here!
