Kismayo kitchen is a modern Somali street food style joint. This is by far my favorite place to grab a quick bite in Burlington. Location-wise it is a bit on the outskirts of downtown but it is certainly worth the trip or delivery. Their Philly cheese steak is one of my go-tos on the menu. A nice sub roll stuffed to the brim with beef, some hints of tomato, and a balanced amount of cheese, I’d call it one of their signature dishes. If the samosas haven’t sold out when you’re there, then ordering a couple of those is a must. And if you’re looking for the most authentic Somali experience try one of the rice dishes, which comes with choice of a chicken or vegan stew. And, if you get the chance to interact with the employees, you’ll realize that they are the friendliest kind of people making every meal here feel personalized.

Came down from NY and decided to try this spot due to great reviews and I can tell you that it did not disappoint! It was great and the service was beyond amazing! Will come back every time I’m in Vermont! So tasty and flavorful! Also try the tea!! So good!!

Great food, friendly service. Popular with locals as evidenced by the busy takeout. We were driving through town on the way to points north. We ordered Somali rice and coconut chicken dishes, one as stew and other as platter. Kale salad was a nice, fresh side. Owner and staff very friendly even while busy. Highly recommended.

Home cooked Somali cuisine with an incredible friendly proud owner. Food was outstanding with generous portions and great prices! Try the special tea too, ambrosia!!! A must if you are anywhere in the area!
