I picked up an older model Bernina (530 Record) and brought it in for service and general check over. It came back to me sewing well, but after a few months I opened it up and found that during the service one of the belts had been replaced with a rubber stretchy belt. This is certainly not the proper belt (I know it’s advertised as “universal”, but it’s pretty much universally disliked except by those looking for a quick easy fix). I really expect better from a licensed Bernina shop. The machine was also quite dirty. At the time I figured that I had my hopes too high that cleaning might be part of the service, but along with the belt issue, I’m just not impressed with this shop.

This is the place to take your machines for service, or to buy a new Bernina. I have never seen a Bernina dealership with the range of Bernina machines. They even carry the higher end commercial ones! Great customer service, too.
