So I am a local, born and raised. My mom and I travel a lot for work and usually her company puts us in the holiday inns. This time however because of rising pandemic concerns my mom and I chose to quarantine at a local hotel out of pocket for 5 days to ensure my dad who has Parkinson's Disease and Cancer wasn't exposed to anything that could further complicate his health. When we made the reservation 1076.00 seemed really steep considering how old and run down that place has been for decades. But still having a 4 hour drive ahead of us we reluctantly went ahead with reservations. Check in time: We check in and immediately the room had an overwhelming smell of stale cigarette odor, There was so much dust build up on the entertainment center and drawers. Apparently house keeping doesn't dust. There was a gritty grime all over the sink counter and bathroom, the floors had debris all over it. My mom was incredibly upset so I told her I'd run out the following morning and buy supplies to clean it up and I did. DAY 2 Considering the state of the hotel room we had no reason to think it would be a big deal to have my dad drop of my Mom's senior Chihuahua that we hadn't seen in two weeks. no more than 20 minutes of her being there the owner very rudely said she couldn't be there. No we weren't happy about it but his hotel his rules we respected that called my dad and had my dad come and pick her up fairly quickly. CHECKING OUT: So we check out and get home my mom noticed $86 charge added. When she went down to talk to them he said it was for the dog which my mom explained she sent back and hadn't been there but maybe an hour total. No mess No damages but he said house keeping said they heard a dog which maintenance guy explained two other guests beside us had dogs. Then the next day the owner had the audacity to have his employee call me and tell me if we left a good review he'd give us 60 of the 85 he extorted us for. My mom went ahead and played his blackmail game to see if the money would go back. Been 4 days since that call no money so my mom took her review down and told me to go tell the truth. She will also be replacing her review with the truth. EXTORTION AND BLACK MAIL IS A CRIME! I'm a disabled local I'm a wheelchair and I work my rear-ended off. This is absolutely unacceptable practice.

The staff were all very nice and accommodating, however we didn't receive turn down service for 3 days even after we asked for it. The rooms could use a refresh. The smell was not great and there was some mold on the ceiling of the shower.

My husband and I stayed here for right at a week. It was our first trip to Colorado and this proved to be one of the more economical choices for our stay. The hotel appears to be a bit older and is currently under renovation but don't let that dissuade you from staying here! Our room was comfortable, clean, and had every amenity we needed for our stay. The mattress, while nothing fancy, was comfortable and the bedding was great and surprisingly warm! I didn't know that there was a crew working on the hotel until our 3rd night there. In fact, I would have thought we had the hotel to ourselves for how quiet it was during our entire stay - even though I ran across other guests every day! As far as the renovations, I was shocked - I've been at many a hotel before undergoing work and it was always a noisy hassle. I met one of the gentlemen working on the place, Tim, and he was just absolute a sweetheart and gave some wonderful insight on some local restaurants. One morning, I saw him and his crew working on stuff and was amazed - my husband and I never once were interrupted by the sound of them! The pool/hot tub area was just wonderful! There were plenty of towels, it was well maintained, and offered additional access upon request (the hot tub was open from 3 pm -11 pm but you could request to get in there earlier or later). It was very clean and didn't seem to be over-chlorinated. It was very relaxing and absolutely gorgeous with the stone and plants everywhere! The breakfast the hotel provided was most excellent - make your own waffles and burritos! The food was all fresh and warm with a wide variety of sides - yogurt, toast, cereal, fresh fruits, etc. If you chose to eat in the breakfast area, there was a lovely fire place type thing in the wall that was pretty and you could see all the mountains in the area. The hotel manager(?), Mike, was just an absolute delight! Arguably, he was one of the best things about the hotel! He was super accommodating and just a great conversationalist; we ran across him several times throughout our stay and every time we just had a wonderful conversation. We needed a late checkout and he made that happen with absolutely no stress for us - even though we told him kind of last minute! For longer stays, there is a grocery store and liquor store within walking distance. To get downtown, there are 2 trolley stops within a 2 minute walk - we stayed a whole week without a vehicle and had NO issues getting around! We got in later on a Sunday and there were dinner options within walking distance, so that was nice too! TL;DR: This hotel is an excellent bang for your buck!!! We WILL stay here again when we go back!

Room was spacious and clean! Breakfast was good! Burritos or waffles and yummy side items. We specifically booked the hotel for the pool/hot tub though and the hot tub wasn’t working every time we went. The pool area could have been more clean.
