Overall very positive experience! First time took close to five hours from start to finish but I was prepared for that. Very understandable due to coming in midday and trainings going on. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. This is great because I plan on becoming a regular donor.

The staff here was really amazing, they were attentive, kind, and extremely professional. They were constantly checking on me and making sure I was comfortable and that I understood what was happening. I even had a few issues and they came to help almost instantly.

Great customer service and very clean. Only thing is they just don't have enough staff to do the vitals or enough staff in the donation area to keep the flow of patients coming in to donate. Wait times do vary prior to donation due to staff shortage, but they are always checking in on us to see if we need anything. Do need to have more experienced Phlebotomist on the floor in case a donor needs that person to start the draw. It would be nice if they gave more money like they do when you first start to donate, especially these days.

I live in Albany so I called before I traveled all the way to Salem and the information I received over the phone was very helpful and the person was pleasant. When I got to the center I was happy to see that the facilities were clean and not cluttered. The staff were all friendly, helpful, and professional. The staff seemed a bit understaffed, or I may have had been there at a time of unexpected high influx. I was told that there would be a long wait time, and since I drove all the way up there, and with today's gas prices, I wasn't going to leave because of a little wait. My total time there for my New Donor process was just under 5 hours and the process to get the plasma only took about 50 minutes, so a lot of waiting. Also on a side note, if you want to listen to music on your phone, bring your earbuds with your phone.

They change gloves if they've become visibly contaminated. However, if you ask them to change their gloves they will. This center also cleans the beds between each donor. I have a lot of experience as a donor and behind the scenes when it comes to plasma. I prefer this CSL over the competitor in Salem.
You can be Nonbinary and donate, sadly you have to specify a binary gender.
First five are $50. Normal rate is $25/$40, plus bonuses for 6+ a month.
No.
Just fyi, they are open Sunday now too: same as Saturday hours
I think a piece of mail w your address and ID with matching address is all that's needed. And make sure you eat something. The first time takes a whole... A lot of questions.
If you fit the 8 donations in a 35 day period for max draw amounts of 880ml, $47 per donation.
I think there are around 60 questions the first time, so I can't remember them all. They ask if you feel healthy and well, they ask if you have any diseases, if you have any tattoos or piercings, have you been outside of the US, have you donated anywhere else, have you had acupuncture recently....there are a lot. I think it's only 25-28 questions after your first visit.
Take him to the hospital
