There are three shops with Viennese pastries that compete for the top spot in Seattle - Bakery Nouveau, Besalu and Celine's. You can't go wrong with any of the pastries at any of them. I do like the location of Besalu the most. Phenomenal savory and sweet pastries - the ham and cheese is unexpectedly good, as is the raspberry danish. The plain and chocolate croissants are fantastic as well. There is also a potato foccacia type thing that is a great mid-day brunch item.

Insanely rude staff. Don't bother going unless you pre-order the night before. Staff and the person immediately in front of me, who ordered the last pieces of the item I came specifically for at 8am, both laughed at me. It's the only item I can comfortably eat there, too. Staff would not allow me to pre-purchase the item when the next batch came out in an hour, meaning I ran the risk of someone ordering everything of a type item, again. Pre purchase menu also doesn't cover things they always have, so is almost useless. Pastries are good but I can't believe the audacity to mock a patron.

Googled coffeshop and Besalu popped up.. I mentioned they had great reviews and this was my first time in. I ordered a beautiful machinations and the Barista gave me a chocolate croissant on the house! I highly recommend this place . Great customer service and coffee and awesome customer service!

Pretty cozy neighborhood bakery with a great variety of pastries and brews Herkimer coffee. There is often a short line outside the shop shortly but it moves fast, the staff is friendly and does a good job taking care of folks. I started with their butter croissants, it's flaky and tastes pretty good. I then tried some other stuff like the chocolate pistachio babka and savory croissant. Always happy with what I got. The service was friendly and prices were fair. I would come back again when I come to this neighborhood.

Hi Walli, Under state law, the only animals we're allowed to let inside are service dogs. We have several spots outside where you're welcome to tie up your dog while you come pick up an order to go. The dog treats are there so you'll have a treat for him after get a treat for you. Thanks for your question!
