Nobody ever answers at the office and issues are blown off without a second thought

I've lived here for 3.5 years and have had zero problems. Maintenance issues are taken care of quickly and the area is pretty quiet. The apartments were updated before I moved in in 2015. Never had anything stolen from my porches. Nicely located within 10minutes of Marysvilles shopping.

Review date : 11/15/2016 I have been a resident of The Meadows for 10+ years, and like apartments everywhere, the residents create the community. People : Overall, most people keep to themselves. The children here have been a "problem" for as long as I can remember. However, it's not so much the children as it is the reaction of their parents when a child acts up. Most of it is trivial, from the occasional fight, to kids in someones yard, to simply being loud. It's nothing like it was 8 years ago with loud music, broken beer bottles, and graffiti at 3 in the morning...and yes, it was children and teens. Currently, in my humble opinion, kids create a problem, tenants overreact, then parents overreact to that overreaction and problems occur. I have 3 children myself, and have been pleasantly surprised when, more often than not, the parents of other children knock on the door and attempt to resolve the issue in a civil manner. This may NOT resolve the problems within the children themselves....but, no one goes to jail. Management : Management has changed a ton over the years. At last count my wife and I had rented from 7 apartment managers since we moved here. Current management seems eager and willing. I've had 3 very small problems since this most recent change, and all issues were handled in a timely, courteous, and professional manner. Communication needs a bit of improving, but nothing above inconvenience lasting no longer than 2 days has been endured. Maintenance : Sadly, and recently, we lost a wonderful maintenance member. Over the years I'd come to know Wayne very well. Upfront, honest, and willing. As sad as his loss is, looking on the bright side, his replacement is energetic and sincere. He really really wants to fix your problems. Although he is/was maintaining 2 properties and stretched a bit thin...after reporting a problem, we scheduled a time for him to look at the issue the very next day. Units : Recent improvements have been made, and although my unit has 10+ years of living in them, with a family of 5...I'm sure a reconditioned unit looks a bit more modern. I believe they have 1,2, and 3 bedroom units. The walls are thin...but, it's an apartment. What was anyone expecting, a waterfall in the entrance area. Basic stuff, 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a moderately sized kitchen (not big enough for Thanksgiving dinner), and a large front family room. It's pretty basic. Grounds : Improvements, again, have been made. Grass, trees, flower beds. It's not central park in New York, and kids do "walk through" from time to time. There is a play area, nothing fancy, and recently (a couple years ago) we had a generation of young teenager we had to ask not hang out there, as there were some issues while mixing with younger children. All issues resolved, and the security cameras really helped. Conclusion : The Meadows is a good place to live. It's not great, nothing fancy and the tenants make the community. I decided to write this review because I understand we currently have a substantial number of units that are currently available...and I'm hoping that anyone who reads this review will, if anything, above all else....the only reason the Meadows ever had a bad reputation was because people thought it had a bad reputation and acted accordingly. For the most part, we are just hard working people trying to make a living and stay out of each others way in the process. I'm aware that may sound "stand-offish", but isn't that most places nowadays. This is NOT the "ghetto Meadows" of 2000. This is a decent community, and should you come stay with us, I hope that you and your family will resolve yourself not to live up to it's reputation, but rather create a new one. Thank you
