Our leaking and ice dammed roof saga before silver leaf is one for the books, but specifically: High pressure selling, first of all. Second, we were told it would be a 2 day project, multiple roof surfaces. We made it Very clear we had a strict budget and would have to be financed with minimal wiggle room. They’d said “no problem”. Within 25 minutes of the job starting we were told they would need another $8000 because they didn’t “anticipate a full resheet” even though they saw the plywood was damaged in every spot they checked. So we now have 3 different colored roofing materials because we had to sacrifice our garage roof to resheet the house roof. THATS NOT EVEN THE WORST PART. When the roof was “done”, weeks later, we were told “put your buckets away!” It rained that night and the roof leaked so much it POURED into our home, through the ceiling, main support beam and onto the concrete floor. We were told it was a “mistake” by a new guy and it was fixed. They then gave us the runaround about fixing the damage their new guy caused that we had already paid THOUSANDS to fix before silver leaf even entered the picture. They didn’t mitigate the water damage. The man they sent to fix the interior ceiling told us multiple times he was told to do the minimum to appease us. They left our ceiling 1/2 painted., which means they weren’t insured because insurance mandates the repair match the surrounding. They dropped trash through the holes in the roof during the resheet. Months later we are still finding roofing nails in the yard/driveway, garage/ house. The roof hasn’t leaked since, but it’ll be difficult to resell the house based on the garbage job.
