I have been going to Austin Ryan for like 15 years. They have always been there for me getting contacts, glasses, and the drs have always been great. Dr Szwartz knows his stuff. Due to my extreme near sightedness, they started seeing my kid around 4-5yo regularly and they are always patient and amazing. They have always stood by the product.

i'm a senior citizen. I found frames and lenses at the New Paltz store that I liked. I was told that they do provide the service of installing new lenses in customer frames. I bought both with the concern that the frames could be found for less money elsewhere. The cost of the frames was $351. The lenses were around $500. With tax, the total purchase was $909. The day of the purchase I found the exact frames on line for less than $80. I immediately called the store and explained the situation. They offered to place the lenses in the $80 frames and refund the $351 for the frames I'd bought from them. They urged me to keep the order in tact until they could examine the $80 frames -- they were concerned that they might be knock-offs. Today I brought the $80 frames in. They were the real Ovvo frames and were an exact match to the $351 frames that they wanted to sell me. They did install the $500 lenses in my frames. When I asked if they would place them in a case for me, I was told that cases were for people who bought frames. I was told that I must have my own case and they declined to as much as place them in a protective cloth case. It is not way to threat a senior citizen.

I asked this place of business to copy a prescription from lenses I already own into a pair of frames that I provided. Not only did they not provide my glasses within the time frame that I was promised but they got the prescription wrong and claimed not to know who I was when I came in to pick them up. It was seriously wrong but only in a way that would require time to begin to notice, which caused a good deal of discomfort until I stopped using. And the price for this was absolutely extortionate. Any invitation to go back to have them get right suggests I'm stupider than I must look so no thanks. Not a recommended place for something as important as one's eyes I am a top rated reviewer on Maps for many years and currently reside in the New Paltz area. Buyer beware!!
