As a local Baltimore Realtor I look for reliability, reasonable cost and good communication for my clients regarding all services. As a title company, Definitive Title meets and exceeds all of them. There have been a number of times where things have changed where Definitive Title has taken the reigns and corrected/adapted to theses changes. Can not say enough about Brett and his team! Thanks Definitive Title!

Red Flags from the start: Check my account, I don't normally do *bad or long reviews unless it's an exceptionally egregious encounter. Long but worth the read -- save yourself. First time I went under contract, Chase initially did not let my wire transfer go through b/c they were marked as fraud 🚩 After sitting on the phone w/ chase and confirming I wanted to go through the transaction and accepting the risk of potentially not getting my money back, I was able to get it to them a day late(r). Silence on their end until I voided my contract on account of the inspection 😬 They call me and say they're going to SNAIL MAIL A CHECK to me. Fast Forward 1.5 weeks and I still have not received the check. 🚩 I get a call asking about my EMD for my new contract and I inform them that I am using another title company (didn't mention a reason but b/c of the fraud alert and I found a black woman owned title company w spectacular vibes & professionalism💁). I also mentioned that I had not yet received the EMD check in the mail. I asked her to confirm my address and it was missing my building indication and only had the unit #. If you've ever lived in a large apt complex you know that one missing part of an address & USPS sends it back. So I asked them to send it to my new address since I've moved until I close (tmi back to the point). 🚨 🚨W/in 10mins I get a call from the OWNER, Brett (out first interaction mind you 🚩) and he essentially cusses me out, without using profanity, for changing title companies. He ASSumed it was b/c I hadn't gotten my check, which he blamed on ME even though they are the ones that left of my building. Anyways he yelled at me for about 3 minutes saying people🚩 NEVER 😒 switch title companies and how he took a loss on my first contract not working out 😒 and how stop payments cost money (wire it back then 🤦) and 🚩 hung up 🚩 before giving me a chance to kindly inform him why I switched so hopefully he can look into why Chase flagged his ABA & Account # to avoid it in the future. But at las' Brett is building a poor reputation w/ first time home buyers, future real estate investors and brokerages. Customer service still matters even when you hit a bump in the road. Notice how he only responds to negative reviews & all say the same thing - any hiccups on your contract and Brett forgets business is about relationships. Nothing here but facts & actions, no opinions or feelings. I only didn't rate a ONE bc his staff is all woman staff 🚩are kinda friendly. All the best!

Ownership seems great until something doesn’t go his way. Rushed and rude. Wouldn’t recommend. Also not in the best area of Baltimore. I am disappointed in the level of professionalism shown.
