VA auto and tire provides full services for automobile. This place is very neat and clean, staffs are great and technicians are knowledgeable. While waiting for car service they offer complimentary coffee and water. Nice and tidy waiting area. They also offer shuttle services and vehicle drop off.

My 89 year-old mom’s car broke down on the street (9/13/22) and had it towed to va tire and auto Springfield. Looking at the bill 2 days later, she got charged for diagnostic testing to determine the problem. That diagnostic fee should have been waived since she had the car repaired here. If she declined repair, i can understand the logic of paying for the diagnostics because now you know the problem and cost estimate and you can take your car where you can get a better price and same good service. What’s hard to understand is why pay extra for something that’s expected of mechanics to do in the first place, which is to diagnose the problem before pinpointing the problem and making the necessary repair. I mean, the mechanic is not just going to stand there and look at an immobilized car and go by hunch to fix it. Again, if you walk away after the diagnostic testing without repairs being done to try to save more money elsewhere since you already know the problem; by all means, pay the testing fee for the mechanic’s time. But the diagnostic fee should have been waived since the car was repaired at this shop. Especially in this time with high inflation, retired elderly citizens can barely manage their affairs much less their finances. I hope I don’t see the day shops like yours start charging for using top of the line tools to fix cars, because you need these upgraded tools to fix cars better and with precision. In addition, yesterday after test driving the car at issue the wheel alignment was off and vibration felt while car accelerates. So I don’t know how thorough the diagnostic testing and other “testings” are that they missed those. I discussed all these issues with the site manger who was nice and patient enough to listen. But I know it’s not his call to address this problem with charging or waiving diagnostic fees based on whether you will have your car repaired or not at same site where you had test done. This is a company-wide issue. Just another extra business maneuver to pad profits, I guess. I rest my case.

Update 2022: not sure what happened to Virginia Tire and Auto. Customer service was not what it used to be. Earlier in the year, husband needed something done to the car. He left the car there overnight to find out that they moved the car to another location because they did not have the expertise in house. And it took longer than expected since expertise was over booked. Which was difficult since I needed my car to drive to work and the company did not have any loaner vehicles. But my husband convinced me to try them again. My replacement brakes procedure was fine. But then my car needed an oil change. I made an appointment on line; but they called me the next day, postponing it to the weekend. But when the weekend arrives, they were unable to accommodate a second time and asked me if I can wait another week. This is ridiculous! They were the ones who suggested the weekend time and now they can't? Extremely disappointed since the customer service was excellent years ago. Eric was professional when he informed me the first and second time, but I don't think i will return.
