This school treats students like they are delinquents. There is no trust between staff and students. And the wellness center oversteps boundaries by constantly scheduling appointment visits for students with doctors, dentist, etc. Without consent of the student or consultation if the student even needs it. This school cannot communicate with their students at all.

Its amazing just gotta get use to it and be very respectful.!

You can come to this job corps center no matter where you are at.
Weekly if there is space left in the dorms or slots open for non resident
Yes you can. Also you need a trade
It's a bit complicated. We have two (2), contractors on site for employees. And Student Employees as well. All timekeeping is done electronically. I'm aware of two web based methods, and one app based method utilized to check time sheets.
Yes
Yes. There are two programs. There is a non-resident and resident students. I was a non-resident and as long as you have transportation you should be able to but I would check and call regarding strict covid processes.
Yes
Unsure of how to answer that. If you enter program with H.S. diploma, a drivers license, then it may be you can devote your time to trades. Not sure though. I suggest you call (505) 222-4275 and speak with admissions counselor. They will be more than happy too answer any and all questions you may have. Currently we are transitioning from Covid 19 restrictions, and distance learning, so things are different on this new environment we find ourselves in. Give em a call, good luck we'd love to see you participate.
Classes and training. You will either be in an academic class (if you need GED or high school diploma) ir training in the trade of your choice, working towards your certifications and your future!

Yes
You can smoke yes
Josh, your gonna have to reconsider your plan. I work as driver there. I am under security dept. Unfortunately, I have not come across a student in advanced training or otherwise being allowed to park vehicle on property.
They dont do online classes. You go to the campus and they enroll you into the GED classes and a trade. I am not sure how long it takes. You can call them and ask to talk to someone about the GED classes.
16-24 with some exceptions
U would have to check the site
6months to a year 16yrs to 24 before turning 25
You can request a copy from Student Records or from Diplomasender.com
Call back and reshulde there was a tour today too so maybe you will next week
Call the Center and set up an appointment for walk thru with a recruiter, let me know if you have any other questions
You can do both. In Roswell you can request for them to put it in for Albuquerque. Or you can just come here to Albuquerque and apply here. Hope to see you soon here in Job Corps!
They train you for a trade. Electrition, welding, office work. And other stuff. Also they help you get your high school diploma or GED they do both. Once you finish the program they give you $1000 to get you started. If you already have your highschool diploma or GEd then they give you 500 after you complete the program. You have the choice to live on campus or not if you choose not to live on campus there is a waiting listI forget what they call it. They told my son and I it is better if he did live on campus.
Im currently a student at job core, id recommend calling the center and asking to speak to a admission counselor about enrolling your son, the Albuquerque job core has accommodations for students with disabilities. And they'll pay for your sons trip if you decide to enroll him in the program
Clarire Johnson you guys csn room together you need to make a request for it ahead of time so they can room you guys together
They must be 18 to enroll themselves minors need a parent or guardian
You dont have to have them but if you already dovthen yes you can go in for the trade as long as the person going is between the ages 16 to 24 years
I was there in 02 or 03 and I was told that living off campus you were less likely to show up for your classes. However it was allowed. There was (not sure if it is still the same) 3 dorms. Dorm 1 was about a month in that dorm for all the new people. Dorm 2 was for those who had been there at least a month up to 4 months I believe. And the 3rd dorm were for those that had been there the longest. They were more of a privilege dorm. They weren't as strict. You still had chores but you didn't have to get up early to get them done you could do them in the afternoon/evening
Shouldn't be that long. I waited 1 month with Joe Castillo.
This is a closed campus but you are allowed off campus and can live off campus Simon Ortiz
Of course, its a wonderful program. Great staff! 😁
What are those programs?
Just get the papers and then youll be in within a week
24 is the oldest age they will accept. Varying from different job corps some only take up to 23.
Unfortunately they cannot provide you with that information on account that its for security purposes
Birth certificate, ssd, highschool diploma (if acquired), drivers license (if acquired), and highschool transcripts.
Usually you can go online from the school you attended. Fill out some info and it could be mailed to you they can even send it to the place you will be attending. Or you can pick it up. I suggest getting 2 copies one for yourself.
