My trade-in and sales experience with Koons was excellent. I had been looking for a K5 for months. I live out of the area. I looked at dealerships local to me, but they were either adding large market adjustments to the price or did not have any K5s available for months. I discovered Koons online. I noticed they had a K5 coming, being sold at MSRP, and matched what I was looking for. On Monday morning, I called the sales department and got Peter. He gave me the details on the K5 and was able to give me a tentative trade in offer on my Optima. I felt the offer on my car was acceptable, so I proceeded to move into the purchasing phase. Later in the week, I made my way to Koons. They evaluated my Optima and confirmed my trade in offer. I sat with Peter and completed the K5 paperwork before heading into the finance office to seal the deal. Peter, Derrick, and finance director Jason were all very helpful, informative, and kind. They played NO tricks, did not haggle, and were very honest with me throughout the entire process. I highly recommend Koons to anyone looking for a great car buying experience with no illusions.

Visited this stealership last year as I was hoping to purchase a Telluride. It was the first location I checked in my car buying journey. What they said on the phone in regard to the initial deposit to place a custom order was not consistent with what they said when I arrived. When I arrived, the deposit amount had doubled in comparison to what they said on the phone and suddenly it was no longer refundable in the event I changed my mind. That was the first red flag. When I was given the price of the vehicle, the paper I was shown did not break down the costs well enough for me to understand where the numbers were coming from. I understand there were markups during that time; however, this stealership was not very transparent about pricing / fees. It was almost as if they were pulling numbers out of the sky. The other red flag was that it seemed as though I was being rushed to sign and told that the "deal" may not still be available if I passed on it that day. I was serious about buying but was not that desperate. I am glad that I ultimately walked away in order to check another location. I ended up placing my custom order at Kia Nationwide Timonium shortly after. I ended up getting a higher trim level / more features for $10k - $15k less of what Kia Owings Mills offered for a lower trim. What a joke. The Timonium location was able to provide a much more detailed breakdown and was clear about what their markup was which was competitive in comparison to Owings Mills. A few months later, I heard about the Kia Owings Mills lawsuit on the news and internet which was due to hidden fees that customers were charged and I was not surprised one bit. I knew that something just wasn't right. I am glad I dodged a bullet and am happy with the brand new Telluride I ultimately ended up purchasing from the Timonium location instead. The Owings Mills location ultimately lost my trust and any chance for future business due to lack of ethics and greed. My advice if going to this location to purchase a vehicle is to take your time to do comparisons and research which is what you should be doing anyway, but because the price difference was so significant, doing so was especially critical. I had originally hoped to do business with this location as the salesperson took the time to create a video of a used model to show as an example and I was able to test drive a previous model year unlike other dealerships that did not have anything in stock. I would have even returned to this location to make my purchase if I discovered pricing was the same; however, I was in total disbelief after visiting the other dealership to find out I would have thrown away $10-15k had I purchased from the Owings Mills location. I am a bit perplexed as to how this location has as many stars in the reviews as it does especially after the lawsuit. Just another thing that seems misleading in order to reel in customers. I hope they are ultimately working to make an improvement in their practices so that customers are more confident in their values and ethics going forward. It is a shame to take advantage of customers especially during a pandemic.

Sales was great. Finance manager didn’t really listen to us and ran our credit anyways, we were already approved and going through our bank. After sales promises and follow ups leave a lot to be desired. Communication is horrible.
