My sister passed away suddenly. I was on a search to find a funeral home that would Accept my sister's Unique style and love of Halloween 🎃. After being turned down by a place in Annapolis because of my needs .I walked into Kalas in Edgewater with low Expectations . I was Greeted right away by Todd .I explained to Todd my vision of my sister's celebration of life .Todd Immediately was excited about something different and Supported my vision .He introduced me to Lori And Don .There love for Halloween was Parallel with my sister's. They both brought items from their personal collection In addition to my sister's collection. They let me in day early to set up .Don also added spider 🕷 webs in chandeliers and around some of the lights. Played the music my sister loved .They guided my family through the whole thing .My sisters celebration of life was so great and Actually what she would have wanted.Thank you kalas for the great Experience. I highly recommend using Kalas for your love ones you have lost . Also when my mother and I went to pay the bill. I feel that their prices were respectful and fair.

Let me make this clear, this funeral home went ABOVE and BEYOND for my mothers Celebration of Life. Anything I needed, down to safety pins and tiny screw drivers, up to massive decorations and some SERIOUS special requests. They also gave me all the tools I needed to write her obituary, design her tri-folds, design prayer cards, and put together the slideshow. Even looking online helped for examples but they do have really nice templates! They even called to help with any little errors I made, to be sure that it’s exactly how I meant everything to be. They spoke with such care, even when giving prices and it was down to business, not once did I feel anything negative or blunt, certainly nothing was “blurted” out at me, it was actually all very clear and respectable. On the day of, there was music and laughter and happiness while celebrating. Truly what my mother would have wanted. We even ended up needing some time to break everything down as we had A LOT of decorations and they helped us load up the truck. I mean, the support is unreal and something I never expected from a funeral home, they felt like friends, sometimes even felt like family with the level of care and thought they put into our plans and grief. Thank you so much to the Kalas family. You’re one of a kind. Keep doing what you’re doing, please! Oh! And P.S. Seriously people, don’t listen to those other reviews. You are in control of EVERYTHING, down to the timing. And the things this funeral home DOES do? They’re wonderful at, and are there to meet every need.
