I called in and asked to drop in for a class on Aug 26. (Traveling through town) I was greeted with a warm welcome on the phone and when I arrived. I filled out the appropriate paperwork and ready to do some work. I arrived early and the coaches were helping the kids class and doing a great job. After the children's class I had a warm welcome on the mats by everyone. The professor was very professional and taught relevant defense techniques and things to keep in mind when doing so out in the streets. Open mat was a great time too. Everyone was respectful and had a great attitude. The atmosphere and the team made me feel welcomed and I highly suggest this academy to anyone long term or passing through. Thank you for the opportunity to train!

Instructors are knowledgeable and friendly, lots of opportunities for beginners and advanced members. Weird animation on the website though.

Both my kids started training at Calvert MMA last year with the little sharks program. Jim, Seth and all the coaches are top notch and do a great job of teaching self defense/bully prevention while still making it fun and engaging. This past spring I started attending the adult jiu jitsu classes and have gained a great deal of knowledge and confidence in just a few short months. The facility is well kept and clean and the people are all inviting and eager to learn and help one another out. Would highly recommend!

The best place in the area to learn Gracie Jiu-Jitsu. Top notch staff and excellent instructors. The roots of Jiu-Jitsu are deep in the lineage. If you’re looking for a fun, healthy activity that gives the best self defense this is the place for you.
