Questions & Answers

Do the woodworkers do little repair jobs on wooden items? Like cutting about an inch off the legs of stools? I live in SCW and would like to get my stools shortened a bit. Would gladly pay for the job.

Yes, they do jobs like that. You could take the stools to the shop, Monday thru Saturday 8am to before 4pm and leave it for modification. Small fee/donation. Excellent results.

I live in Surprise and need to learn how to safely use a circular saw for my DIY projects to fix up my home. If I purchase a Worx compact circular saw, is there anyone who does private lessons that I can hire for an hour or two?

I need a TV riser made, not necessarily out of hardwood, but maybe a fiberboard that is 41x14x5 inches with no center support. Can they make one for me and how much would it be? Thank you.

Yes, someone in the club would probably make it for you. No idea what the cost will be. Go to the woodshop and ask for special projects. The monitor may be able to putting you in contact with the member who will help.

Is there any wood value in Acacia wood from a 17 year old tree?

Yes it's a hard wood and suitable for some items. I have never worked with it and don't know how easy it is to turn on a lathe but but like to give it a try.
