Nice place, staff is friendly and they have a good selection of things. I can’t speak on the auction part because I just purchased blenders straight from their pallets. But I had a good experience

Their auctions are very unorganized and do not give you notice ahead of time when pick up is. Workers are very rude and are not helpful at all.

This auction is much better than sierra on surplus items. No broken or missing pieces. Also the whole lot crew is friendly and down to earth. SAM gained a new customer.

You can buy individually at the retail store.

Is this one of the various government departments that really hold car auctions at cheaper prices than the regular auctions? If so, what is the name of this governmental department?

No, SAM seems to deal mainly in food service equipment. Vehicles are mostly fleet vehicles from large companies like grocery stores or food chains.
