I've lived here with my family for about 3 years now. Honestly, it's not that terrible. Not any worse than other cheap apartments in the Alhambra area anyways. The problems: The buildings are old and falling apart, as are most of the appliances. Yes, the place is utterly infested with roaches. You will often see giant roaches outside and in the laundry rooms at night, and medium/small roaches are bound to get into your unit through the various cracks in the walls and foundation. Pest control was previously an amenity they offered, but that went away with the pandemic. No matter how hard you try, roaches are just inevitable so it's just something you have to deal with. The AC sucks, they're old and barely work. They also operate on a central cooling unit that the landlords often forget to turn on, meaning you will be without AC for several weeks in the early Spring/Summer. Highly recommend getting a portable AC unit so that you don't melt during these times. Hot water is very hit or miss. Sometimes it works fine, but other times you will go without proper hot water for weeks. As of the writing of this review, I have been without hot water for 2 weeks. The management is not very responsive, often rude. Maintenance is also very hit or miss, often not showing up at agreed upon times or trying to enter the unit without notice (which is illegal by the way). You're in Alhambra, which is a bad neighborhood. Lots of junkies, dealers, and thieves around. People dig through the dumpsters in broad daylight and nobody stops them. Just keep a close eye on your belongings and lock your doors. BUT, there are some positives: Utilities included, which is hard to find nowadays. Neighbors mostly mind their own business and wont bother you for anything. Landlords, while unresponsive, are also usually unobtrusive, which I liked. It's a place to live. At the end of the day, you get what you pay for. These apartments aren't great, but if you're just looking for a roof over your head, you could do worse. I've yet to have any major problems that weren't rectified, and I'd say my 3 years here were satisfactory enough.

Not a super bad place but the lack of pest control is terrible you basically have to be your own pest control if you want to keep pest out you have to heavily douse your home in pest control products to keep them at bay but even then you'll have to do it 4x every month it's a gated community with no walk in and out gates for residents in the back on the community they have to walk all the way to the front entrance just to leave if your not driving there always drug addicts around the playground area and laundry area if something is to go wrong in you apartment it literally takes maintenance almost 2 days after you've called about the problem then when you're able to contact them they still may not come that day to fix the problem

It's a large complex. And I've notice a few recent move outside. So I'm sure they have few vacancies. I personally like it here
