Their website and customer service phone system was not functional for a week, during which time they billed me $676 (over $400 of that being gas) for a 1 bedroom apartment using electric heating. It took them over an hour to come out to check for a potential gas leak via the emergency customer service line. The gas leak employee advised I call customer service to check the gas meters because my bill was impossible and recently many customers had the same issue. Their customer service line seemed to only have automated suggestions to pay them. When I said “speak to someone” the automated system informed me there is a 45 minute wait. They can process payments immediately though, hence the 1 star. If only there was another utility company available in Wilmington.

My experience with Delamrva Power, Gas Division, has been a complete nightmare. We broke ground on our new home in late April and are still waiting for gas to be run to our home. This has caused a number of delays with the build. My wife and I have understood some of the weather issues, but the fact that Delmarva has cancelled appointments multiple times and on one occasion just failed to show up! We have been told, by the builder, our hands are tied....all we can do is wait!
