Drove in from Dallas TX only to experience horrible food and horrible service! Not sure why this place gets the rave reviews it has? Maybe I’m missing something? I think NOT!

[NO LONGER SERVING HOT POT, but charging the same price] I never give a business one star before, but I think other people can find this review to be useful. As of November 2022, the place is no longer serving hotpot, and the host did not tell me anything until I sit down, get my food and ask the waiter for the hotpot, granted later I do see a long paragraph with small front explaining that hotpot is no longer being served, that display in such a way that do not catch people attention at all, so I would appreciate if they can straight up tell me from the start without having me found out after I got my food. There were a group of people after me that were in my situation as well, only finding out after they already sit down at the table and start getting food. On top of that, they charges the same price ($28.99) without hotpot and hotpot meats, the restaurant basically offer less selection than a typical Chinese buffet, they are saying that they replace the crab legs for the hot pot but the crab legs were as soggy and tasteless as it can get, the oysters feel not fresh at all, I give up eating all of it after a few tries. All of this would be ok, if, 1./ They tell the customer BEFORE taking them to the table that hotpot is no longer being served and the price stay the same at $28.99, 2./ The restaurant lower the price since hot pot no longer being served, 3./ The rest of the food has the quality of a $28.99 dollars buffet, cause currently its not and worth to me less than a $15 one. Else, I feel mislead and rip off that would leave me regret going for days after. The server was nice to me, the food display was ok, its just the food taste so bland, and the price is ridiculous. I believe I'm not the only one that feel this way, considering the restaurant is super empty the entire time I am there during a weekday dinner time. I see the potentials of this restaurant from the past and I hope they can improve, by then pls downvote this review and I will remove it, but now, pls upvote this if you feel the same way.

Entering this place, the atmosphere is relaxing. The music they put on is piano and it keeps the restaurant mellow. The waiter helped my family and I to a table promptly. There’s a rectangular island in the middle that serves sushi and seafood. Another area on the back has a few select items that are interesting to get. I got two of each and tasted one each with and without soy sauce/wasabi. There are people who make the sushi in front of you when needed so that is good to see. The texture and flavors of all the sushi I tasted are great! Nothing seemed off about anything. Great expectations. I got a second plate that consisted of: Takoyaki, grilled shrimp, mussels (one has cheese and garnish? while the other one I got from the rectangular island), beef, and frog legs that I rarely try. The crab meat on the bottom of the image my parents helped me open. You would have to ask the waiters/waitresses for a crab opener. The takoyaki had a nice color to it and once you bite, the texture seems off. I expected the texture to be fluffy but it was like a creamy liquid. It is probably the filling. The flavor of the takoyaki is good overall. The beef has amazing texture, seasoned well, and the flavor has a nice garlicky, beefy taste. Just a bit oily since it was rested for awhile on the buffet plate. I bet it would’ve tasted way better when it was cooked before I got some. The frog legs are crispy with a nice bite. Salty and taste like chicken. I rarely eat frog legs but these are great to whoever don’t eat frog legs or scared to eat. The grilled shrimp is crispy but very salty to my liking. One of my family members like it though, just not my preference. The mussels are mediocre at best. The crab legs are long and the meat is sweet, love it! I tried the raw oysters with lemon and it didn’t taste fresh. Had to keep one under the napkin unfortunately since I can’t eat the second one. Overall, 4/5. I would go here as a recommendation from anyone, but won’t go here as often since it’s a bit expensive for 31 bucks per member on a Sunday.

I was so hyped when I heard tokyo japan is back in business, i havent been here in years since they closed. I went with my family, i was worried they changed cooks because i seen some unpleasant reviews, but after i actually been there in person and ate one of everything they had, i can guarantee you that the food is as amazing as before! Someone said the takoyaki balls are bad but i had like 7 and i can vouch for them, they are the best takoyaki balls ive ever had, i ate them before at poke ramen and they werent as good as they are at tokyo japan. Also ive read reviews that say the sushi is bad, ive had one of each and i swear by their sushi, i was so sad when they closed, i tried going to different sushi buffets like kirin or others, and they were all garbage, especially kirin was the worse with disgusting fishy shrimp and rotten tasting sushi, never went back there and gave up on sushi buffets after i tried another place, cannot rember name, and was almost as bad as kirin. I feel like the few bad reviews are fake or are from competitors because ive been there with 3 others and we all had really amazingly fresh sushi and great food in general, also the service is way better than a few years ago, the waitress that took care of us refilled our drinks multiple times and gave us napkins even without asking in between meals. I have already told all my friends about this place and how amazing it is, i wish i knew sooner it re opened. I will come back again to eat here next week, i might try hot pot since i never tried that at their place before.

[Update Nov 2022] This question is very misleading, not sure when is this posted, but I visit the place in November 2022 and find the place to be a rip off and the food is quite bland and disappointing. Also, hotpot is no longer being served, and I did not find that out until I ask the waiter, the host did not tell me anything about they no longer serve hot pot. On top of that, they charge the same price for dinner with hot pot, $28.99 a person, and only offer less food selection than a typical Chinese buffet and the crab legs were soggy and bland as it can get
Lunch is $14.99 and dinner is $31.99
What do you mean by ADULT buffet? This is not a massage parlor!
I believe it's 11.99 and 16.99 depending on their age
Miki is right, < HOTPOT IS NO LONGER BEING SERVED > [Nov 2022], and the host did not tell you that until the moment you sit down, get your food and ask your server if you can have hot pot, on top of that, the price stay the same, less food selection than a typical chinese Buffet, the crab legs is the only thing they trying to use as excuse is soggy and bland as it can get, the oyster is not fresh as well
Yes
Price and Selection of Food that's offered at the different times
Dinner got a lot more options in seafood . They have snow crabs as well as oysters...sashimi and sushi...I like this place a lot due to the freshness in their sashimi and sushi...
Probably, more likely yes.
With the heart
Yes, for additional price.
Just like any buffet, you pick what you want to eat. You can certainly choose to eat all the sushi you can.
12.99 lunch time 29.99 dinner m - f weekends lunch price is higher dinner stays the same
Yes
It is a buffet. I am not certain about senior pricing, but i know it's about $17 for lunch during the week as opposed to $30 for dinner.
