My review is solely base on my experience. First time protesting my taxes and I was help by Natalie Tipping, she is amazing at her job and show her passion for what she does. Thank you so much Natalie!

In the past we have always received the service as expected, simply individuals doing their jobs, but this year after MCAD significantly increased the TMV on homes, they should have better invested their funds. The online protest system did not work for some on May 14 and May 15. The online system stated that the submission was done but a confirmation email never arrived. For the deadline on May 16, no one was available to answer the phone, then on May 17 after going in person, we were informed that we could file for a late protest because the deadline was on the 16th. Then 2 months later we made the mistake of calling to check and see if the ARB had reviewed our file--First call no, send an email same day as that call, then 2 days later the appeal is denied, BUT and email is received from the ARB person stating that our protest was not done. The only plus: because of how high they appraised our home, at least the school district will receive the same amount of taxes from us despite the State of Texas decreasing property tax funds going to schools. An uneducated society results in lawlessness and poor decision making skills. MCAD should ensure that their online system works at all times and not try to hide the fact that the system had glitches. I, now agree with Creighton, those on the ARB should be ELECTED positions.

We went to file for our homestead exemption. The employees were all very nice & helpful, and concerned with working efficiently and getting people taken care of. They directed us where to go, what we needed to do. There were enough chairs for the people that were waiting to all be seated.

Mapping dept does not answer the phones.
Probably your State ID and the forms are online I believe.
I didn't have an appointment, I just walked in and received service. Not sure what their process is but it worked out for me to walk in and take care of my business.
I DON'T KNOW SOULD I
Try sending an email, or going in person. You’re likely to have better luck that way. Good luck!
They are busy with people contesting the INSANE property tax hikes!
Notices are sent out april 1st...there are instructions on how to protest in the notice.
The legal description is in your deed or can be found on the mcad web site. It is going to be something like.....lot 1 block 2 of peach creek sec 01. Or. A0028 hadge archbald tract 15, acres 3.5.
This is not done at MCAD
If you were living in the property and has never applied for homestead exemption. If just purchased your home in September and was living in the property as of January 2021 you can apply for it but won't get credit until 2022.
The deadline for me was May but I refused and went to a hearing. Your deadline should be stated on your settlement offer.
No It goes away when the new owners take possession.
Go to the building permit office across the street from the courthouse. The one where u get a septic tank permit. They r awesome. They have the latest flood info, flood maps, and info regarding placement of septic tanks.
The first thing after closing on the home would be to update your drivers license. Once you have received your updated, you will need a letter from your doctor or VA that states your degree of disability. Once you have that, you would need to go to District and file the Homestead Exemption. The application has a section within it that gives you the option to file for the Veterans Exemption. Pretty simple process. 15 minute application time. Hope this helps and thanks for your service!
Yes. You can get alot of things done there. They are very friendly and helpful.
Contact The Montgomery Central Appraisal District, Business Personal Property Department.
That would be a question for the Tax Office, as the Appraisal District only sets taxable values instead of collecting taxing payments. If you wish to inquire about your taxes online you can do so here; https://actweb.acttax.com/act_webdev/montgomery/index.jsp Or, you can contact the Tax Office directly by phone at; (936) 539-7897
You can apply anytime but April 30th is the deadline for the year
With that information anyone can go into the mcad website and find out tax information on this property
No, payments should be made at the Tax Office, either in person or via their online portal found here; https://actweb.acttax.com/act_webdev/montgomery/index.jsp
