My grandfather lived here and I was a big fan (one of the five star reviews), but let me tell you - if you and your family need support (medical, practical) you will not find it. If your loved one is sick, they do not contact you. That happened to me on multiple occasions, and as we were moving out we heard SO many frustrating stories. Notice many of the positive reviews are staffers. My grandfather had a fever for two days, was visibly deteriorating and sweaty, and I did not receive a call until after they admitted him into the hospital when they found him in his room laying on the ground. My grandpa was released from the hospital on a Saturday afternoon without the ability to walk. The hospital said it is the facilities responsibility to provide support after his release. They loaded him in my car, and although I was in constant communication with the weekend director all morning, she stopped answering my texts / calls after 4 and gave me no one else to reach out to. No one present in the facility knew what I could do (there are maybe 4 people working weekend afternoons). I was crying, frantically calling wheelchair suppliers after hours. LR had no contacts to give me, no one helped me bring my grandfather in the car, the two of us just sat in my car in the parking lot for two hours while I waited for my friends to help me and for the wheelchair to be delivered. This is not to mention that a month after move in, he had serious water damage and mold in his room and no one noticed. I had to be the one to point it out. His room transfer that was supposed to last one month lasted three or four months, and I still paid the full amount of the larger size room in order to reserve it for when it was fixed. They also had doctors that visited, but there was no way for me (a very involved family member) to get confirmation on when the doctor would be there or if my grandfather even saw them. I would have to personally email the director and ask the front desk people, and they would let me know if they remembered him walking that way or not. There were no systems in place, and no communication with the responsible parties / caregivers. Later when we moved out, there was so much debate over what was due. One woman who was there at LR from their parent company told me something completely different from their billing department. I can’t tell you how many times that happened. Or how many times I’d have weird billing issues. I ended moving my grandfather and found an Assisted living facility where I paid less monthly, it was beautiful, and the staff to resident ratio was much higher and there was a Nurse Practitioner that would call after visits. I thought he was in a nice place because some of the staff members were truly kind, but omg his care was night and day. So many of my favorite staff members would leave, and you could just tell that they were having severe hiring issues. Half of what you pay is location, but it really is an apartment complex with a social schedule for the elderly. That’s it.

Sahar in Activities always does a phenomenal job with the resident parties! The residents really enjoy the happenings here!

My mother really likes living at Landon Ridge in Sugar Land, TX. She values her independence and likes to be close to family. She has made really good friends, exercises 5 days a week, has very healthy meals, volunteers in the community, plays cards and goes on outings. My friends say, “your mom has a better social life the we do!”” I laugh because it is true! Thanks Landon Ridge!
