There are 3 key issues that I have that drive a 1-star rating: First, the billing department is difficult to work with. They overcharged me for a procedure over a month ago. They are aware that they overcharged me and the I have a credit balance, but they still charged me yet again for more than the credit that I have for a follow-up visit. They explained that it was "illegal for us not to get our co-pay upfront" which is clearly a lie as other providers do this all the time. Second, when I called for the billing department to get my refund, I was initially told that they didn't have a billing person so they couldn't help me. I asked them how they could still receive payments but not issue refunds and they didn't have an answer. They called me back when they hired a new billing person (a month after the original procedure) and assured me that I would be getting a check for the refund - it is now 2 weeks later (6 weeks after the initial procedure) and I have not received the refund. I called billing and again had to leave a message which may or may not be answered. I most likely will need to dispute the charge on my credit card to get my refund. Third, when in the procedure, I was told that "we should probably remove these but you need to agree to pay us $50 before we do the procedure." This is unprofessional and unethical, and I don't need to deal with anyone who does this.
