There's no better place to go if you have a cat. Dr. Weldon is kind, compassionate, and has an encyclopedia's worth of knowledge she can share with you about your cat. The other staff are just as kind, caring, and helpful as she is. I have yet to stump Dr. Weldon with any questions or problems. With her support, you can feel confident that you are making the best decisions for your cat.

I called to make an appointment for my cat who was displaying odd behavior. I was told that I needed to have my records sent from my current vet for Dr. Weldon to review before scheduling an appointment. After waiting a week, (apparently it takes a week to review a few pages of records), I received a call and was told that my cat was “very aggressive” and Dr. Weldon recommended he be seen by a veterinary behaviorist. First of all, my cat is not aggressive, and if she bothered to actually review his records she would have seen that wasn’t his issue. Second, why did it take her a week to basically say that she didn’t want to see him? After 5 minutes of going back and forth with the receptionist, explaining that my cat had already seen a behaviorist and we were trying to rule out a medical problem, I finally said that I would find another feline-specific vet to see him. Her response was “Well, if that’s what you want to do…” When she finally did agree to schedule an appointment (after telling me to sedate my cat at home before bringing him in), she said a credit card number was needed to secure the appointment. I did not feel comfortable giving this information over the phone, given how unprofessional and disorganized they seem to be. It seems Dr. Weldon is either trying to curate her practice to include only cats she feels are “worthy” of being seen, is inexperienced with cats who have behavioral issues (which can be medical-related), or lacks the compassion and empathy you would hope to see in a veterinarian. Luckily, there are other feline-specific veterinarians in DFW who have both competence and compassion.

This is the best place you could possibly take your cats. They are the kindest, sweetest people and will always take the time to answer any questions you have. We moved and now drive across the metroplex because THEY ARE WORTH IT.

No.
Totally worth it, this is absolutely the place to trust taking your kitty.
I don't think so, but if they have existing appointments, you may have to wait. They've always been responsive to the few day time emergencies we've had.
