This bank is very unprofessional and my husband felt like he was discriminated against. My husband and I went to Guaranty Bank in Pittsburg in July 13 and spoke with a Cruz Alvarez. We told her we needed a small business loan for some heavy equipment. She questioned us like my husband’s business was not legit, but I took it with a grain of salt. She told me all the information that was needed and I sent it to her. Including tax returns because my husband has been in business for 4 years! He had to consistently reach out to her to get the status of his application and on July 22, he was told that he was approved. She said he needed to pay 30% down. On Tuesday, he took her the 30% and she question him about purchasing from a private owner. He told her he was purchasing from a dealership and she questioned him about that. That question was irrelevant because that should have been asked before the approval. On Wednesday, he had to reach out again to them because he hasn’t heard anything and she told him his documents would be ready to sign on Thursday. He goes today and they tell him he’s declined with no explanation and he even said one of the officers of the bank had a smirk on their face when the message was delivered. I have been in the financial industry for 15 years and I currently work with small businesses owners. If we treated our clients like this, we wouldn’t have any. It’s a classic case of judging a book by its cover. You definitely reap what you sew and Guaranty bank is sewing rotten seeds with some of their employees. He went to the Guaranty Bank in Mt. Pleasant and spoke with their loan officer and she said she didn’t understand why it was declined. We will be contacting corporate.
