I highly recommend Two Dog Yoga for many reasons. After trying probably dozens of yoga studios in the greater Seattle area, I have found my yoga home at Two Dog Yoga. First of all, the teachers teach for 1.5 hours. This is by design. They are able to start our class with a brief teaching that always makes me self-reflect before I take that self-reflection into my physical practice (after all, the definition of yoga is the yoke (connection) of body and mind). And they have time for us to really do a proper savasana (rest) at the end. Second, the teachers have knowledge of the body - they all are able to explain why our body works the way it does and how we are all different from one another. They incorporate this into their classes by strongly inviting us to “not look perfect in the pose”. The reason they are doing this is that yoga has caused injury for people who try to make themselves do exactly what the instructor does to their own body thinking wrongly that this is the way to Nirvana or some such thing. These instructors are truly wise and know that we all are made differently and need to get to know our own body. Third, these teachers know that the secret to longevity is not huge bulky muscles, or that cute little pop of tricep muscle when you turn your arm inward. (You will, however, see this at other studios which I like to call Yoga-Robics where even in one instance, a teacher injured herself in one of her colleagues’ classes.) These wise instructors at Two Dog Yoga know that strength and flexibility prepares the body for aging and for strengthening and lubricating the tissues to handle life’s ups and downs. I was even so prepared, that eventhough I hadn’t gone skiing a single day last year (I don’t recommend this - lol) when I got stranded with my Dad on a double black diamond, I carried his skis and mine, up the mountain so we could get over to the single black diamond instead of the double black that he mistakenly started heading down. I walked a good 20 minutes with all our equipment. Anyhoo, I was surprised by my own strength and proud that I could help my Dad out. I was sore but I did it - I’m not gym strong - I’m LIFE strong thanks to Two Dog Yoga. Lol. Fourth, the Two Dog community is a community of very wise people. It’s not a surprise because of the great teachers of Two Dog. I think that nearly everyone except a few people are older than me and yet in most yoga studios, most folks are younger than me. This shows how sustainable practicing at Two Dog Yoga is for all of us. If you got to a yoga studio and everyone is young and strong - be wary. Ask yourself, how will I age here? Your answer will most likely be - this place is not sustainable and I will eventually get injured. Two Dog yoga is one of the most sustainable yoga studios I’ve ever experienced. I once had a substitute Teacher there who looked over 80! And most students are silver hairs. It’s amazing! These are wise people!! All people are welcome here and it’s a safe space. By the way, I don’t give a lot of reviews. So if this one is clumsy, please forgive me. Two Dog means a LOT to me - and I wanted to really think this through. There’s so much more to say that I can’t put into words. I feel like a better person since practicing at Two Dog and certainly if you’re looking to try out yoga or find a yoga home or something else, give Two Dog a try - you won’t regret it and you might just even meet a greater, wiser you! The goodness in me honors and delights in the goodness in you (Namaste), Carol

I’ve been practicing yoga at this studio for many years now and I continue to be amazed at what a wonderful experience is to be found there. The yoga instructors are top notch at the art of teaching but they also bring a sense of caring and compassion that expands into more than just the physical benefits. They encourage the students to greet one another which always makes me feel part of the community. At Two Dog Yoga I have gained better health and anticipate continuing my practice for many years to come.

I would really like to see this place get a good cleaning and revamp. The location is good and close to me and I'd like to come back. But despite my desire to want to make it work and make this my place, the studio is musty, the carpets are old and dirty...
