I've been attending the classes for almost a year and I love it. The coaches are great and insightful and I definitely feel like the lessons are helping with my anxiety and stage fright!

I've been with AZAA for almost 2 years now and I've loved every minute of it. Between the students and the coaches the community has always been welcoming and fun. I personally don't have anything to compare it to, but all of the students that have joined other theatre groups in the area have told me that AZAA is by far the best.

I joined Acting Foundations as a way to follow a lifelong passion and help me get through a major life change. 4 months later I am a student of Acting Technique, a chronic Improv make-upee and have just signed up for my first AZAA 24 Hour Theatre Event. The coaches here, the people I've met and the skills I've gained are invaluable to me. (And im still so new! Imagine what this journey will be 2 years from now!) Often times my face hurts from smiling SO Much! And often, I am challenged to grow, be vulnerable and to crack even wider open into art and creation. Always learning. Always playing. Thank you AZAA and all who make it possible!

The best aspect of this place is they coach you on different acting techniques of the highest quality but encourage each person to focus on their individual artistic journeys which, I feel, is liberating and a very unique form of education, something that's not very common. It does take a lot of work, though, and rightly so. I’ve been in Rachel’s class for almost two years now and it has helped me immensely to grow as an actor - every feedback of hers has opened up some new avenue in me to explore. I had also been wanting to delve into Shakespeare for the longest time and being in AZAA made it possible for me. I started off with Brandy, the artistic director, as my coach and it was absolutely wonderful to be taught by her - it laid a strong foundation and her passion for this art form is infectious to say the least. The current instructor Maren (who is such a wonderful human being!) has brought another dimension to Shakespeare with movement based learning and the art of story telling through physical behavior which, again, opened a new dimension of acting as an art form for me. Finally, the Meisner technique class, taught by Isaac Byrne, who's based in New York, has helped me understand the magical effect words or text have on a human being, an actor and all you have to do is "not get in the way". Isaac's very systematic and practical approach to coaching and his honesty and transparency as a person is something that inspires you to accept who you are as a person and put yourself out there confidently. I also want to say that this place is a thriving community of artists and all my fellow actors who I've met in class are wonderful people and I thoroughly enjoy all the after-class parking lot conversations. Those are highly enlightening and fun! I would highly recommend this place to anyone who is considering taking the plunge into acting. You will grow here, not only as an actor, but also as a human being!

The main classes are for adults, but one of the coaches there does also work with younger ages groups (6-18)
Hello Malona - our Phone # is 602-535-5472, please leave a message and we will return your call as soon as possible.
Hello. Actors gain employment through auditions. Any good training program helps the actor become competitive to gain an agent, navigate auditions both amateur and professional, and be highly competitive to get roles through auditions. AZAA has been preparing actors for the competitive marketplace for over a decade with actors in LA, New York, Albuquerque and Atlanta. Hope that answered your question!
The craft of acting itself. That's most important. Navigating the industry is hard, always has been always will be. Educating yourself on how to deal with agents, submit for projects, etc. is part of your job as an actor but it's arguably the easiest part. Becoming an artist that can't be ignored or dismissed, that takes incredible determination, grit, talent and discipline. Actors have to train like athletes train.
Hello! I'm the youth acting coach at AZAA- the youngest we do is 7 years old. We have drop in classes for teens at 25/class. :)
Hello Jade - Sean is right, we do offer both acting classes and private coaching for all ages and experience levels. We highly recommend considering the classes as you begin your journey toward your passion as you benefit greatly from learning from other growing artists. However, our instructor Rachel Grimes offers private coaching for actors and can help you with the guidance you are seeking. Find more about our classes at https://www.azactorsacademy.com/core-classes/ and more about Rachel's coaching here https://www.azactorsacademy.com/private-coaching/#rachelgrimesprivatecoaching.
