I had the best care possible from doctors, nurses, aides, the pharmacists, everyone who worked in PT and OT (especially Bill Sopko, occupational therapist), the dining room, and the head kitchen staff. Due to their superior performance, my 3 1/2 months projected stay created in me the overwhelming desire to overcome the problems and struggles that I faced to get better. I hail Acadia Silverside as the BEST facility of it's kind in the area. To that end, I give it 5 stars. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

There is a culture among the aids that their skill is doing as little as possible. I was there five weeks recovering from congestive heart failure which left me unable to walk. The bell was never answered in less than 20 minutes. If you told an aide you needed the nurse they may or may not tell the nurse. The aides gathered in the hallway right outside the door laughing loudly, screeching loudly and ignoring the bell. Twice I was heading to my phone to call 911. Most did not speak English, some version of it. When I asked what they said they got angry with me. I am diabetic. They claimed to have a dietitian. The meals sent to me were. 80 - 90% carbs. Lemon cream pie, etc. Many nights I had to choose between being hungry and overload of carbs. While I was there my sugar rose and rose. I could go on for hours. If you hate someone, put them there. Loved ones, keep them away.
