Nice clean room. Very quiet.

The motel was clearly older, which isn't bad. It was one of the lowest price options when we booked, so my expectations weren't high. With a few improvements this would be a great place to stay. The TV was very old. TVs are cheap now, so this is a simple improvement. Old motels don't have a lot of outlets. Adding outlets might be expensive, but lots of other hotels/motels have found other ways around that to add more plugs. The mattress was sagging in the middle. It might not be cheap, but the bed is the most important part of the room. The last thing was the shower head. I'm tall, but the shower head was extremely low. We stayed at another older hotel the night before and they had added a pipe that curved up and raised the shower head about 6 inches.

There was an awkward, and totally unnecessary front desk encounter when I first arrived, all I shall say regarding that. Besides that this was a nice stay for me for 3 reasons...comfy bed, pretty outdoor area which would be nice for someone wanting to use the pool, and the pool looked nice, or someone staying longer than I was, to really enjoy. This was a spontaneous stay for me as I was adding on one extra night after my 3 day trip to Sequoia/KC parks, the night before driving home. I wouldn't say there's anything too exciting nearby the hotel in regards to food based on my searches. It's off hwy frontage road, but where I was located in the hotel, but it didn't seem too noisy. There wasn't a lot of people staying on my side of the building, and so it was a quiet peaceful night. It would be cool if the restaurant next door to the hotel was open more days besides sat and sun, that would have been convenient for bfast, and I would not have expected it to be a free bfast necessarily either. Yes furnishings need updates, get rid of those giant chairs that go with the table at least, although I had no need for them at all. Ask for room with garden view. I booked through third party website and got a nice price. I stayed in early October.

The check in staff was amazing. The rooms and grounds were clean but unfortunately the last 24 hours of my stay were not great. Which says a lot as I was only there for 2 nights. After a day of exploring we came to the room for dinner and TV. The cable was out and the tvs are not smart so we could only watch tv on our phones. In the morning the cable was still down but that's the leastv of my concerns. My husband was going out for coffee so I stayed to get ready for departure. As I was in my underwear in the room the door swung open. Housekeeping was coming in to clean a room next door. She did not knock or announce her entry and there are not any do not disturb signs to put on the doors. She stammered sorry and slammed the door. I was in shock. I felt violated and called my husband very upset. I then called front desk and all the said was they would address it. No notes in my account record at check out. Then their computers crashed making me miss my bus to my next destination. Still nothing about housekeeping. I wanted to support local business and keep coming back. But now my anniversary weekend is tainted by this occurrence. My next stay here in Visalia will be at a chain where policies with staff are strictly enforced. Do not stay here unless you are willing for an audience to come while changing.

It should be written on the map that shows where your room is. It contains the year.
I believe the Lamp Liter IS pet friendly. On my stays, I have seen many patrons there taking their leashed dogs outside for excercise, and a 🐕 bathroom break. Your best bet is to call the motel directly and ask. ☺
I used a credit card... As far as I know they do not accept cash but it is my favorite place to stay great staff and always clean ...beautiful peaceful
