Hi Joseph, Sorry for your loss. It's difficult to answer your question based on just that information. Usually, you would need an attorney who is licensed in the state where the lawsuit is going to be filed. But, there are situations where you could have a lawyer from a different state who obtains a temporary license in the state where the lawsuit is filed (they will need to work with a local attorney to do that).
